Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus Know They're Not Perfect

Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, and other celebs are teaming up with Seventeen Magazine and the Jet Foundation to spread the word that "Love is Louder than the Pressure to be Perfect." As time goes on, higher (and unreasonable) expectations are put upon young girls.

These standards are set by the women they see on TV and in the magazines--people like Demi and Miley, actually. But these famous young ladies have been through a lot, including being ripped apart by the paparazzi, so they know what's it's like to feel the pressure to be perfect--and now they're speaking out against it.
In her video message, Demi Lovato talks about "impossible standards" and the pressure to be "be everything to everyone." She tells young girls at home, "If you're going through a dark period, remember that you're not alone." The Disney star isn't just speaking from a script...she's speaking from her heart as well.
She's not just another preachy celebrity trying to share a positive message around a topic she don't truly understand. Demi Lovato has been there, done that. Teenage girls will feel she's genuine--plus they'll believe her advice could really work.
Demi shares that she loves to paint (who knew?), which was perhaps her escape during her mental breakdown. She advises young women to also focus on something the love: singing dancing, acting, drawing...you get the picture.
